In addition to the basic laser on/off button, this handheld laser marking machine is equipped with an optical distance sensor and a white pad on the bottom of the device. The laser is activated only when the pad contacts the marking material. Even if the laser switch is pressed, the laser will not activate if it is not in contact with the marking material.
